Going away and taking your dog with you?

Obviously, given the work I do, I would rather you allowed your dog to stay at home 😉

To ensure you have a great time away ensure you have a few details thought out and organised ahead of your trip:

  • The details of a vet practice in the area you are going to, just in case of an emergency. Obviously take any medication and supplements with you too.
  • Make sure the microchip details are completely up to date and in your name with your contact details on it.
  • Ensure that your dog has a collar on at all times with an ID Tag containing your details including current phone numbers.
  • Do not take risks with doors being left open whilst going to and from the car. Your dog will have no idea where it is and can easily get lost.
  • In a new area you might not want to let your dog off lead, so take a long line with you that is secure and the dog can still have some freedom without you worrying.

The above points may feel small, but they can make all the difference between a stressful time and a chance to relax, unwind and have fun.
