Frequently Asked Questions

What does my service cost?

You can find my fees here. Just like you, I believe in being budget-conscious! I run my operations efficiently so that my fees can directly reflect the quality care I offer, not unnecessary costs.

As you look at my pricing, I encourage you to remember these key factors that contribute to the high-quality, trustworthy, and personalised care your dog receives:

Dedicated care: This is more than just a drop-in. I never overbook. Your pet receives my undivided attention following their exact routines. My price reflects the expertise of a dog professional with a Level 3 Canine First Aid Qualification who is 100% committed to your dog’s happiness and well-being.

Maintaining High Standards: The rate covers the dedicated care time and travel logistics (fuel/time) for reliable service. It also supports my commitment to maintaining up-to-date skills through CPD and includes the cost of my mandatory Meet & Greet session.

Safety and Trust: Your peace of mind is paramount. My rates include essential protection such as insurance and DBS checks, alongside a commitment to your home’s security and your dog’s safety. I also handle light home tasks (like mail and plant watering) to keep your home secure and running smoothly while you are away.

Caretaker Provisioning: For overnight services, the pricing includes my personal meal and supply costs necessary for the duration of the stay, ensuring I remain focused on uninterrupted, dedicated care for your dog.

It might even surprise you to learn that when you consider the total hours of the service you receive, the effective hourly rate is actually significantly less than the national minimum wage! How’s that for value for money?

Do you offer payment by instalment?

Yes, for weekly bookings (or longer), I can offer instalments but your last instalment must be made 2 weeks prior to your service beginning.

Do you offer free sits in exchange for accommodation?

No, I’m afraid not. I believe in offering the best service I can and to do that I need to stay up to date with my qualifications and memberships.

Why don’t you offer a service for cats?

What started as a nasty, persistent cough last Christmas led to a long investigative process. After almost a year of follow-up appointments, testing (including lots of medication and blood work),the results revealed that, unfortunately, I have an allergy to cats. I would be more than happy to connect you with another trusted pet sitter who offers excellent cat sitting services.

Do we meet before my service starts?

Yes, I always insist on at least one meet & greet session to get to know a bit more about your dogs, their health, their likes and dislikes and of course, if they are happy to meet me! This is included in my fees. However, should more than one session be required, there may be a charge dependent on where you live.

Can my pets stay at your home instead of mine?

No, I am not insured or licenced to care for your dog in my home

Do you have a backup plan in case of a personal emergency?

As a dog professional, I understand the importance of reliability. I’m proud to have strong support, including my son who is also an experienced and dedicated dog sitter.

Will I have the same sitter serving my home the entire time I am away?

Yes. The time you book is exclusively dedicated to your dog.

Will you be bringing anyone with you?

To maintain confidentiality and guarantee undivided focus, I will be in your home alone for the entire duration of my visit.

How often can I expect updates?

At the very least, once a day, however, I am more than happy to answer any questions or concerns you may have whilst you are away.

What do I need to provide for you while you are here?

If you have booked an overnight stay, other than somewhere to sleep, a fridge, a microwave and an internet connection (I will still be working whilst at yours) there is nothing more that I need.
